Virtual Buzz Network - Marketing with Virtual Assistants

I have a 3 month old son and need to start working, but would like to stay home to raise my son. I am very skilled with computer technology, the internet, microsoft word, excel, powerpoint, ect. and am looking to become a part time virtual assistant. I would like to start small helping with simple tasks. What are the requirements to become a virtual assistant? How do I get started? and what is the average income?

Currently I’m interested in becoming a virtual assistant, but for the last four years have been working in large and small hotels as the front desk supervisor or front desk lead. Would there be any similarities to a virtual assistants job duties and hotel work front deskwork? If not then are there any online courses, classes or programs I could take to help me exceed in this area? I want to be a virtual assistant part time so my hotel job can support until it sets off the ground.

I am looking for a job to start in August and continue throughout the school year. Obviously a part-time and preferably not working in a grocery store. I have had job experience with teaching and working with audio/video equipment.

I want to target real estate agents and help them with administrative work. I want to be certified as a virtual assistant, but wondered how necessary it would be to obtain that right away. I have an Associates degree and a Bachelor degree. I also have about 7 years experience working as an Administrative Assistant (or similar). I work full time right now, so I wanted to do work primarily online and part time. How do you get it off the ground? Where are some good places to market yourself, cheaply?
